Arm Lift (Brachioplasty)

After ageing and excessive weight loss, sagging skin tissue on the inside of the upper arm occurs. The sagging, which is more obvious with the removal of the arm, cannot be hidden with sleeveless clothes.

METHOD OF SURGERY

Sagging skin tissue and a small amount of adipose tissue in the inner part of the upper arm are removed to give the arm a younger appearance as intended. The operation lasts an average of 2-3 hours under general anaesthesia. There are stitches in the inner parts of the arm. Drains are placed to prevent blood accumulation in the operation area.

Before the operation, your doctor will perform your examination and determine the appropriate surgical technique for you. Depending on the condition of the excess skin, the scars will be limited only to the arm or the scars that extend to the trunk will remain.

PREPARATION FOR SURGERY

If the patient smokes, it is recommended to stop 3 weeks beforehand, and blood thinners to be discontinued before the specified time. Preoperative planning is an important step in surgical preparation. One day of hospitalization is sufficient. Daily life can be returned within 1 week. It is recommended to wear a corset for 4-6 weeks after the operation.

Possible Risks:

Infection, bleeding, oedema, numbness in arm skin, bad scar formation.
