Eyebrow Lifting

Brow lifting can be applied to people whose eyebrows are age-related or structurally lower. This procedure can be performed with the help of endoscopy, as well as with thread or skin procedures for people who want a shorter operation procedure and quicker recovery process. Brow lifting operations can sometimes be performed together with eyelid interventions or fat injections, considering the patient’s needs. Depending upon the procedure, it can be performed under general or local anaesthesia.

PREPARATION FOR SURGERY

Detailed examination of the patient is the first and most important step. The general condition of the patient, accompanying diseases, medications used, and whether expectations are realistic are the most important points for us. Detailed examination together with the anesthesiologist is a must for preoperative preparation. If the patient smokes, it is recommended to stop 3 weeks beforehand, and blood thinners to be discontinued before the specified time. Preoperative planning is an important step in surgical preparation.

METHOD OF SURGERY

If the endoscopic procedure is to be performed, the brow and temple areas are reached with incisions made through the scalp using a light camera, and the stretching process is performed to these areas. Sometimes additional incisions are also required on the eyelid. Fat injections can also be made according to the need. Sometimes, thread lift, which is a non-surgical process and has a short recovery period, is applied. The procedure to be performed is decided by the preoperative evaluation.

HEALING PROCESS

Stitches on the hair are removed in an average of 10 days and stitches on the eyelids are removed in 5 days, and oedema on the face will be significantly regressed in this process. Nevertheless, it can take months for the tissues to take shape and oedema to fully pass. If necessary, some tapes can be used to reduce swelling. The pain is not very severe, usually at a level that can be relieved with painkillers. In early periods, there may be some numbness due to tension. It’s mostly temporary. As with any surgery, there is a risk of complications during endoscopic facial surgery. Some of these may require revision surgery attempts.
